The Phillies' catcher is a great field general, steadier of pitchers, good game-caller and clutch hitter. His on-base percentage is good, and he's a core part of the Phillies' success.
But right now at Citizens Bank Park, while you can purchase jerseys or t-shirts with the names and numbers of the likes of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Jayson Werth, Shane Victorino and Raul Ibanez, as well as Cole Hamels, Brad Lidge and Cliff Lee (and, I think, Jamie Moyer), you can't get anything with Ruiz's name on it.
The Phillies should change this -- soon.

agreed! i have been searching for a Carlos Ruiz shirt and am amazed i can't find one!
We have been looking everywhere for a Carlos Ruiz shirt. We are big fans of the best catcher in baseball.
Call the Phillies. They are very accommodating, and my guess is that they'll find a way to print and sell these shirts. I'd also call Modell's and Sports Authority, which appear to be the biggest sellers of Phillies' merchandise.
I am amazed that I have yet been able to find any Ruiz merchandise. I mean I went to Modell's and found a Bastardo shirt but not Ruiz. Something doesn't add up. I definitely asked the management to be sure to try to get some in - let's hope my suggestion helps

My husband had one made for me online because we couldn't find one at any of the shops at Citizen's Bank Park. Carlos is definitely underrrated and most certainly underpaid!

This response is amazing. I recommend contacting the Phillies. Call them at their general switchboard number, register your concern, and ask them what they're planning to do about it. I'd bet that they'd sell over a thousand pretty quickly. Chooch is beloved, almost the same way Charlie is.
My boyfriend had to get one special printed for me at Citizens Bank Park. He had to purchase a shirt that was blank on the back and then ask them to print Ruiz on it. I'm now extremely proud of my Ruiz shirt!!!!
I am Panamanian and I am big baseball fan, I have been looking to buy a Ruiz shirt or jersey and I havent find anything just the custom ones. Ruiz is from my hometown so I am very proud. My husband went to a game to the citizens bank ballpark and he could find anything with ruiz printed on it. Where can I make this request on Ruiz merchandise?
I found one at the Acme supermarket.. it was only a 2 day special but it has his name and # 51 on the back and on the front is a pic of ruiz hitting the ball and it says senor octubre. maybe there are more out there online but im not sure. good luck!! He definatly is underpaid!!!!
