I read an interesting article in this month's "ESPN The Magazine" about Goodyear and the manufacture of Indy car tires.
Did you know that
a) They cost $418 apiece;
b) a car uses about $30,000 of tires per race; and
c) (the most compelling item in my opinion) at any one time in a race, the only rubber hitting the track (of all 4 tires combined) is roughly the size of the sole of a men's size 11 shoe.
It's always great to read articles in national publications that actually teach you something. It's also a small article, a two-page layout, but great stuff nonetheless. There really isn't a good hypertext link to the article, but go within the ESPN website and find the magazine, and check it out.

I can not believe what its real cost is, I mean, I supposed these tires were expensive, but I thought not more than $300 per tire. Definitely to practice this sport is necessary to be millionaire, or at least a very good sponsor.
I had no idea that these car tires were so expensive. Definitively, having good car tires must be very expensive.
In choosing the best tires and rims, it is better to ask expert advice on that area in order to have the best tires and rims that suit your car. There are also cheap tires available online and fitting centre that offer a very comprehensive service online.
