There isn't an SP jinx, but Princeton's B.J. Syzmanski wasn't taken in the first round of the ML draft. He was taken in the second round by that modern-day juggernaut, the Cincinnati Reds. Syzmanski made waves earlier this spring when he bombed a 450-foot HR over Justin Verlander, who was the #2 pick in the entire draft.
