I watched the two semis last night and was tempted to turn off the sound. Sometimes Packer's comments were on the money (predicting Hibbert's 4th foul due to fatigue) and other times less so (saying Oden should focus only on put-backs when the Hoyas went into their zone). But he seemed to spend most of his time making predictions and then interpreting all subsequent events to validate his points. The relentless self-congratulations - "as I just said" - did nothing to illuminate the game, which I believe is his job.

ReplyDeleteI think you are mellowing in your advancing age.
Packer is an annoying scold and a know-it-all. It's time for him to be replaced.
